For a number of mental health issues a client is able to discuss with their GP a referral to a psychologist. This referral allows a medicare rebate for psychological consultations the rebate is currently $80.20.
If you have private health insurance coverage for psychologists you will need to chose whether you claim a rebate from Medicare or the private insurance company, you cannot claim against both for the same consultation.

Corporate fees for other types of service available on request.
Health Care Card holders and others on low income will be “bulk billed” if they have a GP Mental Health Care Plan referral.
